Services
The Center for Systems Integration is dedicated to improving public policy processes and outcomes through:
- Engagement of stakeholders, including policymakers, public and private sector, invested interests, and the general public;
- Research that focuses on the unique experience of each political jurisdiction, while still incorporating the best practices recognized nationwide; and
- Communication of policy opportunities and options, including writing and dissemination to key stakeholders prior to important decisions.
Engagement
- Structured public participation processes with the general public, key interest groups, consumers and communities;
- Conference and interactive public meeting planning/development;
- Building buy-in through authentic engagement from the public and key interests;
- Engagement of consumers and stakeholders to testify and support policy processes;
- Facilitation in complex policy settings, such as multi-system/multi-agency planning or diverse community collaborations;
- Action, strategic, and communication planning; and
- Building strategic collaborations and partnerships between policy makers, funders, systems, consumers, communities and other key interest groups.
Research
- Public policy analysis and research;
- Fiscal policy analysis and research;
- Public policy, systems, and advocacy evaluations
- Community-based participatory research approaches;
- Specialized techniques such as network analysis, q-sorts and cognitive mapping;
- Forecasting/trends analysis;
- Organizational and community readiness and needs assessments;
- Resource assessments, focus groups, interviewing, surveying and document analysis; and
- Legal research and analysis of legislation, regulations, case law, policy effects and policy outcomes.
Communication
- Development of public outreach materials, curricula, and toolkits;
- Educating policymakers and other stakeholders through written and presented materials;
- Developing policy briefs and other materials reflecting current policy issues and legislation;
- Facilitating development of legislation and other policy directives;
- Translating policy research to practice; and
- Social marketing, training and technical assistance.
