The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

  • September 23rd, which is the 6 month anniversary of the Patient Protection and Affordability Care Act (PPACA), marked the beginning of several historical changes for health care.  Provisions to healthcare reform include health coverage for more children, elimination of lifetime and most annual limits on care, and patient access to preventative services such as mammograms and colonoscopies without charging a deductible, co-pay, or co-insurance.
  • To learn more about health care reform, please go to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ recently released website. The site’s information is organized into sections on finding insurance options, learning about prevention, comparing care quality, and understanding the new law. Since this is the first web site to collect both public and private health insurance options across the nation in a single place, it may prove to be an extremely useful tool for foundations and grantee organizations.
  • To access the site, please go to http://www.healthcare.gov/

For more information, please go to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at http://www.hhs.gov/
