Advisory Committee on Homeless Youth
- November 2008 is Colorado Homeless and Runaway Youth Awareness Month! All month long, local youth serving agencies are planning activities for youth and open houses for community members. A Statewide Kickoff event has been planned for November 6 from 3-7 pm at 21st and Stout Street in Denver. A public ceremony at 5 pm will provide an opportunity to learn more about the epidemic and hear personal stories from homeless youth. Homeless youth are invited to participate in the on-site resource fair in the areas of: education, medical, housing, shelter and emergency services. Building Bridges for Children's Mental Health
- Building Bridges for Children's Mental Health seeks to enable local capacity building by developing effective state policies and infrastructure based on an integrated Positive Behavior Supports/Systems of Care approach that lead to increased access and improved mental health outcomes for all school-aged kids. In October, Building Bridges worked with an interagency team to develop a list of shared outcomes specific to behavioral health, schools, and related systems. These outcomes will inform the policy change efforts of the state leadership team.
