Colorado LINKS for Mental Health

  • The LINKS Repository for Systems Transformation (ReST) Website is now available at http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/ps/ipsp/ReST/index.html!  The ReST Website has links to over 100 highly practical, hands-on resources that can help local communities and state agencies integrate multiple systems to improve outcomes for children, youth, and families.

Advisory Committee on Homeless Youth

  • The 2009 Annual Report of the Office of Homeless Youth Services has been released and is now posted on the Office of Homeless Youth Services website at http://www.cdhs.state.co.us/shhp/Homeless-Youth.htm. The report highlights the accomplishments of the Office of Homeless Youth Services, the Advisory Committee on Homeless Youth, and local communities during 2009, as well as emerging trends affecting homeless youth and several key public policy recommendations.

Colorado Department of Education

  • The Colorado Department of Education is presenting three Intensive Supports Trainings across Colorado in late April.  The trainings will be conducted in partnership with families whose children have intensive behavioral health needs.  Mental health tools from the Building Bridges grant will be provided.  The focus of this training is to provide resources and tools for school teams to utilize when collaborating with families regarding students with mental health/behavioral challenges.  CDE recommends that PBS teams and coaches, District Intensive Support Teams (BESTs), mental health practitioners, parent of children with mental health needs, and community mental health partners attend as a team.  Stipends for family and community mental health participants are available.  To be emailed when the online registration for these free trainings begins, please contact Michelle McGuire (see below). The dates and locations of the trainings are as follows:
    • April 22nd: Montrose
    • April 27th: Westminster
    • April 29th: Colorado Springs

Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing

  • The Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing will soon be releasing an RFA for the Maximizing Outreach, Retention and Enrollment (MORE) Grant Program. Keep your eye on the following web page for the announcement: http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite/HCPF/HCPF/1251570472340.  There are also a number of resources on the MORE Grant Project posted on the above website, including information on trainings for MORE Grant Program participants and presumptive eligibility facts.

Colorado Systems of Care Collaborative

  • The Colorado Systems of Care Collaborative will be gathering system of care resources (SOC) for their new website as well as hearing an update on the Blending and Braiding Your TANF program at their meeting on Friday, April 2nd at the Jefferson County Juvenile Assessment Center, 11011 W. 6th Avenue, Suite 120, Lakewood, Colorado 80215.  There is a new member orientation from 9 to 9:30, followed by the meeting proper from 9:30 to 11:30am.  All are welcome.  Please bring any SOC resources you have!

Colorado Youth Development Team

  • The Colorado Youth Development Team in partnership with Assets for Colorado Youth, Get R!EAL, The Colorado Youth Advisory Council & Civic Canopy and Kaiser Permanente Educational Theater Programs presents Community Connections for Change: Building Youth-Adult Partnerships. Four community building events will be held across Colorado:

    • Pueblo: May 15
    • North Denver: TBD
