Colorado Consumer Health Initiative

 

  • In 2011, CCHI will be hosting its Policy Committee Meetings every other Friday from 12:30 to 2:15 beginning January 7th. CCHI's Policy Committee is open to any members interested in helping formulate our Legislative Agenda.   • CCHI’s Blue Guide to Services for the Uninsured (“Connecting Care and Health in Colorado: A Guide to Services for the Uninsured”) is a resource with information about health and human service programs in Colorado, eligibility details for public programs, and lists safety net programs. If you are interested in receiving a free copy of CCHI’s Blue Guide and/or would like a CCHI representative to lead Blue Guide training for you or your office, please contact Christina Yong by email at christina@cohealthinitiative.org or call 303.839.1261.

Colorado LINKS for Mental Health

 

  • The Colorado LINKS for Mental Health Initiative is transitioning in 2011 to Quarterly Networking Meetings.  The 2011 meetings will be on February 1st, April 5th, July 5th (this meeting is subject to change), and October 4th, from 1:30pm to 4pm, at The Tennyson Center for Children at 2950 Tennyson Street, Denver CO 80212.

Colorado System of Care Collaborative

 

  • The Colorado System of Care Collaborative was formed in the spring of 2003 to define a common vision, value system, and goals to address the complicated system of services for children, youth, and families with multiple and complex educational, safety, and overall health needs. The Collaborative is made up of concerned stakeholders representing state agencies, community programs, parents, youth, and advocates.
  • The next meeting of the Collaborative will be held on Friday January 7th, from 9:30am to 11:30am, at the Jefferson County Juvenile Assessment Center, 11011 W. 6th Avenue, Suite 120, Lakewood, Colorado 80215.  All are welcome.  The agenda includes a discussion of family engagement as part of the Colorado Practice Initiative, and an exploration of partnerships between the Collaborative and other child and family groups.
  • The Collaborative’s website has the history and principles of the Collaborative, resources for new and potential members, links to its partner organizations, and information about the Blending & Braiding Your TANF Initiative. Mental Health America of Colorado

 

  • Starting in early January, Mental Health America will be hosting a 12- hour certification course called First Aid USA.  The course will teach participants how to provide help to someone showing signs of mental illness or mental health crisis; a 5-step action plan to help an individual in crisis connect to professional care; and the potential warning signs and risk factors for depression, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, and substance abuse.
  • Classes will be held Mondays, January 3,10,24,31 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Empire Park Office Complex (1325 S. Colorado Blvd. Building B Conference Room, Denver, CO 80222).
  • Cost: $60/ person.
